Interview with Cadet William Field, FEYRA Member

Your Name : Cadet Will Field

Members since : Nov 2016

Age : 14

Pupil of : Queen's College, Taunton

Best achievement so far: As an individual probably coming 3rd out of nearly 100 in the 90 Eventers Challenge at the BRC Festival of the Horse Championships last year on my pony Noah, who has been really ill for the last year, but is hopefully getting better now. Or winning the 1.10 show jumping at the NSEA (National Schools Equestrian Association) at Hickstead in May, which was particularly exciting as it was my first 1.10 and it was huge! As a team member probably being second in the National Schools Show Jumping Championships at Hickstead in August as we got to jump in the International Arena, which was amazing, I also got through to the individual jump off so I got a second go!

About you : As well as riding I really enjoy cadets and want to join the army when I leave school. I also enjoy skiing and scuba diving. I have a little brother Ted who is just about to join cadets now he is old enough.

Future goal : I have another 2 1/2 years on ponies so want to make the most of it. I am aiming Sprite at the BS Just for Schools Championships at Stoneleigh next August, at the moment we are leading the 1.00 and 1.10 leagues so will try my hardest to stay there. I am aiming Koningshoek Mistique at the Junior Foxhunter second rounds and the 1.10 Restricted Rider Championship at Stoneleigh. If Noah comes back we'll I would like to aim him for the Pony British Novice and Pony Discovery Championships at Stoneleigh. I am also trying to get a Somerset ACF team together for the services jumping at Royal Windsor as I've ridden ther for the past two years with my school team but would love to ride in the main ring!
