"I have had a background in horses most of my life, and along with my wife have produced horses some really lovely horses from novice level through the grades to Grand Prix and International Level. Each one of them brought something different to the table and not all conformed to straightforward production. This then entailed working out different plans and training schedules for them, and it is this that I suppose has been the foundation of my training and attitude towards producing horses at all levels.
Coupled with my daughter being involved on the pony scene before moving onto horses in the last two years, this has given me a rounded approach to all aspects of horse and pony production. I also realised that there was a rider gap between producing at home and being suitably prepared for the show environment, so embarked on giving clinics and training based on both my course design and riding experiences to assist in their preparations.
The clinics and one to one training which I also deliver are extremely popular and receive good critique from the riders who attend.
It was a balance getting to this stage having been a police officer for 30 years and having various commitments aside of my equestrian pursuits, however the investment was worthwhile and I have enjoyed course designing at many high profile events both at home and abroad."
