BRC Hickstead Teams 2017

(Cover story DC Andrew Reynolds Avon & Somerset Police)

Well what a year, the best we've ever had with results and we at FEHQ are super proud of the dedication, teamship and ability of all our riders who qualified and turned out for yesterdays event at Hickstead on Sunday 3th July 2017.

PC Jenna Hastings was the team manager for another year and juggled so many challenges with broken down vehicles, vehicles stuck in the mud, non FE riders stable hoping in their stables, injuries & home nightmares that prevented some riders not making it this year. With new members dropping everything to ensure the show must go on, we can't ask for more and just shows the tema ethos of our members.

So what were the results I hear you say..........

At the start of the teams all our 0.85m riders were clear and set the bar to what was going to be the best result Forces Equine has ever seen at Hickstead. Our 0.95m riders gave it there all with youngest rider James Matthews going for it with an amazing ride on Sweet Touch II and showing all our senior riders just how you can make up time and take out some amazing strides. UK Border Forces rider Lousie Revill had such an unlucky round with Cavalier Knight aka Mitch who was just so off life yesterday, we wish him a speedy recovery. Louise went clear last year with the fastest time so was super sad with her result yesterday but #twohearts it does not always go to plan. 1.05m riders gave it there all and some were just unlucky but really tried hard for their team mates. PC Charlotte Lee withdrew as her second rider was eliminated, saving Eddie for another day (exciting news announced for her today)

Once again the spirits were high for all that rode and represented their services, family, friends and Forces Equine. We could not be prouder of all of you who competed in 91 teams. WELL DONE!!!!!!

Below is a snap shot of some of our riders pictures with more to follow and you can capture a feel for the course by checking our Miss Katie Baxter & Ballyneety Rollers video.
