BACKGROUND/ACHIEVMENTS - He was a late starter in life and was brought to the UK by his previous owner in May 2015. I brought him in March 2016 after the sad loss of my previous horse. He is a very talented horse but can be a little sharp at times. I personally think it helps to have a horse with a bit of sharpness to show off their potential and often this can give that extra wow factor. But it's all about learning to control that sharpness to use it to your advantage which sometimes is still a work in progress for us.

This caused us a few teething problems when I first brought him but with good training from my instructor/best friend karla kanpp and some hard perseverance we have been on an amazing journey over the last year and are starting to really build a good partnership together. We have competed at BD since 2016 working our way through the levels up to medium achieving some amazing marks, from high 60s - over 70% on a good day with no spooks lol.

In that time we have been to the BD Summer and Winter regional championships in 2016. We also attended The Summer Regionals again this year at elementary and was really pleased to come away with a respectful score of 66.20% and 20th out of 42 riders, atleast 7 others being on a% of 66 something just above me. We also qualified for the Merrist Wood unaffiliated Championships at Novice and Elementary which we went to at the end of August. This was most definitely our biggest achievement as we came away with 2nd in both our classes with good marks just a shade off first and had our first ever prize givings and laps of honour. So I was over the moon with him and a super proud mum.

We have not long started Medium work at home and after being encouraged to go out and see what the judge's opinion was by my trainer we managed to qualify for Pet Plan area festivals this year in our first two tests. Sadly on the day we were having a bad day at the office as they say and didn't make the top 10 to go through to the next round butbi was still proud of us for trying.

We are currently having some fun producing an Elementary Freestyle to music which should be ready soon and I'm very much looking forward to trying this.

FUTURE GOAL – He is such a very willing to please horse but can sometimes find things a little stressful which can cause tension, which is especially costly to marks when competing. I love competing and I am extremely proud of how much we have achieved in the last 17 months I've had him considering our rocky start. So I think my main goal for the future at the moment is just for our relationship to continue to grow closer, to keep building that harmony between us as a team, so he knows he can always trust me, even in the scary unknown arenas with flowers and banners that eat you haha. Mainly though it's for us just enjoy our life together and have fun doing it, anything else we can achieve on top is a massive bonus.
