Forces Equine at Hickstead 2019!

Well what a week! We started the Hickstead June meet with Deputy Governor Caroline Vine HMPPS who competed with her own Diamond Buffet within the Dressage competition. The pair qualified for the event and were super excited to get down and strut their stuff in uniform representing the Prison Service & Forces Equine.

"Love my boy Bob. Loved the experience of competing at Hickstead and one day I will contain my nerves. A learning curve for us both and at the beginning of our journey together. Met some lovely people and even though the weather wasnt great; we still had lots of fun. Thanks to all who helped me get there and give it a go. onwards and upwards" said Caroline.

We are excited to see this pair progress in the future and look forward to watching them compete in person at the Forces Equine Games on the 13th & 14th July 2019 at Arena UK Showground.

PC Philippa Wratten was out in force with her Vogue aka Ginelli Z.

"Wasn't our day yesterday. Clear in first round of 1.40 8 year olds but lacking fitness meant faults came in jump off" said Philippa.

This pairing has set the world on fire with qualifying for HOYS in 2018, competing at the Royal Windsor Horse Show in May against some of the worlds best alongside holding down a full time career within Kent Police.

We are hoping to see Philippa at FEG in July where our members can watch them in person - it is great to see.

PC Charlotte Lee of Dorset Police and her own Zarina qualified for the Hickstead Speed Derby on Wednesday. The pair had 8 faults in their qualifier but that only adds time so it was go go go to ensure the qualifying place.

Saturdays final started with winner of the Speed Derby and 2nd place in the Hickstead Derby 2019, Ms Harriet Nuttall walking through the course with Charlotte - who could ask for better!

Charlotte and Zarina came 13th out of 28 qualfiying riders and 25 who competed, which was a fantastic result.

"Debi Heath French and David Heath French you never tire of supporting me and giving me the most fantastic opportunities through Forces Equine" said Charlotte.

Catch the action on the video within this report - super proud of this pair!

Also take a look at Boots & Hooves Photography on Facebook to see some great images of this pair.

"I am so very proud of what our members achieve no matter their affiliation to the organisation. It is amazing to see the top level riders compete against our serving riders and giving them a run for their money. No matter what level our riders compete at, they are all fantastic, but seeing them on the international stage is simply breath taking" said Founder, Debi Heath French.

We'd like to thank all our sponsors and supporters for all that they do, we could not do it without them. We are really looking forward to FEG this year where all our sponsors will be attending and enjoying the great atmosphere that is the Forces Equine Games.

See you all on 13th & 14th July at Arena UK and we thank Norman Oley, Lauren Humphries & Teresa Stratford of Arena UK, who support our organisation - we can't thank you enough!
