Mrs Carys Reynolds BSc (Hons) BVSc MRCVS
I am 37 years old and an Equine Veterinary Surgeon working for Abbey Equine Clinic in South Wales. I qualified in 2010 and have a specialist interest in Equine Medicine and Poor Performance and am frequently to be found on duty at BE events up to 5* level and also on the Racecourse at Chepstow where I am a proud member of the Vet team.
I am married to DS Andrew Reynolds who works for Avon & Somerset Police and so we are both lucky enough to ride and compete for Forces Equine. Between us we have 3 horses based at our home amongst a menagerie of other animals! I have an extra interest in A&S Police as over an 8 year period I was one of the Vets looking after their Mounted Section horses. Since moving back to South Wales 3 years ago I do miss being a part of the team there and so love to catch up with them all at FE events!
Horses have always been a huge part of my life and to this day both my professional and personal life revolve around their every move! I compete my own KWPN gelding Tommy (Celcius) with British Eventing and have produced him myself through the levels to our current position at BE Novice/2*. Tommy has been a popular member at various team events and always has a happy outlook on life, not least when he is jumping and galloping across country which is his favourite pastime! Our highlights so far have been competing at Gatcombe as well as on the FE teams at Hickstead and at Blenheim Palace. It never fails to amaze me where a good horse can take you!
In addition to the Equestrian side of life, my huge love is socialising with my friends over a glass of wine (or several!) and walking my chief assistant Tally, my black Labrador, who is never far from my side and who will continue to be an avid FE supporter!
